Disclaimer

Last updated: 15 August 2026. This page sets out some important clarifications about Football Runner: what the Site is, what it isn't, and the limits of what you should rely on it for.

Interpretation and Definitions

The words with an initial capital letter have meanings defined under the following conditions. These definitions have the same meaning whether they appear in the singular or the plural.

For the purposes of this Disclaimer:

  • Company (referred to as "the Company", "We", "Us" or "Our" in this Disclaimer) refers to Football Runner.
  • Service refers to the Website.
  • You means the individual accessing the Service, or the company or other legal entity on behalf of which that individual is accessing the Service.
  • Website refers to Football Runner, accessible from https://www.footballrunner.online/.

General Disclaimer

The games and content on footballrunner.online (the "Site") are provided for entertainment purposes only. Everything here is offered on an "as is" basis, without any guarantee that the Site will be available at all times, free from errors, or uninterrupted. We do our best to keep the games working well across devices, but we can't promise perfection, and we accept no liability for any loss or inconvenience arising from your use of the Site.

A short version of everything below: this is a small, independent football games site made by people who like football. It is not a coaching service, not an official football resource, not a betting or fantasy platform, and not connected to any real club or governing body. Treat it as an arcade with some genuinely useful reading attached, and you have understood it correctly.

Not Affiliated

Football Runner is an independent website. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise associated with FIFA, UEFA, any national or international football association, any football league, any club, or any commercial brand. Our games are original creations inspired by the sport of football in a general sense.

Any names, trademarks, logos or brands that may appear are the property of their respective owners. Where they are mentioned, it is purely descriptive or for identification, and does not imply any endorsement or partnership.

To make the point as concretely as we can: every player figure, goalkeeper, kit, ball, badge and stadium element you see on this Site was drawn by us in code. There are no club crests, no league logos, no player likenesses, no team colours chosen to stand in for a real side, and no imported artwork of any kind. The keeper who saves your penalty is a few dozen lines of geometry, not a depiction of anybody real.

The same applies to the writing. Where our Football Basics page explains offside or a two-legged tie, it is describing the sport in general terms, as any book or article about football would. Where the Football Quiz asks about a rule or a record, it is testing general football knowledge of the kind found in any quiz book. Neither uses official data feeds, licensed statistics or material supplied by a football organisation.

Accuracy of Information

Our guides, Football Basics explainer and Football Quiz are written and compiled in good faith and are believed to be accurate at the time of writing. However, football facts, records and rules can change or be misremembered, and errors are always possible. The information on the Site is general in nature, is not professional advice, and should not be relied upon as an authoritative or official source. For the definitive rules of football, always refer to the official Laws of the Game.

External Links Disclaimer

The Site may include links to external websites that are not provided or maintained by us. We do not guarantee the accuracy, relevance or completeness of any information on those external sites, and we are not responsible for their content or practices. A link does not imply endorsement.

Advertising Disclaimer

The Site may display advertisements served by third parties, including Google AdSense. We do not control and are not responsible for the content of these advertisements, nor for the products, services or websites they promote. Any dealings you have with advertisers are solely between you and the advertiser. Details of how advertising cookies operate are set out in our Privacy Policy.

Fair Use and Educational Purpose

Some content on the Site, such as football facts and general references to the sport, is provided for informational and educational purposes. It is intended to help people learn about and enjoy football, and any incidental reference to real-world names is made in that spirit.

We are glad when the Site gets used that way. Teachers, coaches and parents are welcome to use the Football Basics page as a plain-English introduction to the sport, or to run the quiz as a group activity. The Terms of Use set out what that permission covers in more detail, but the short answer is that ordinary classroom and club use is fine and needs no request from you.

The Games Are Not Simulations

Our games are built to feel like football, not to model it. This distinction matters more than it might sound, so here is what is actually happening.

The physics is deliberately simplified and deliberately exaggerated. A free kick in Free Kick Master bends far more sharply than a real ball would, because a realistic amount of curve is almost invisible on a small screen. The goalkeeper in our shooting games reacts on a timer that ramps up on a fixed schedule, whereas a real keeper's reactions do not improve measurably between one penalty and the next. Wind in Football Juggling pushes with a consistency no real breeze has. In every case we chose the version that reads clearly and plays well over the version that would be technically accurate.

What this means for you

It means that if you get very good at one of our games, you have got very good at our game. Some of the underlying habits genuinely do transfer, and we write about them honestly in the guides: placement beating raw power, committing to a decision as late as you responsibly can, and noticing that being predictable is what gets you caught. Those are real principles and they hold on a real pitch.

What does not transfer is technique. No amount of tapping a screen teaches your foot where to strike a ball, how to plant a standing leg, or how to read the weight of a bouncing pass. Nothing here is a substitute for actually playing, for a coach watching you, or for proper practice with a real ball. Please do not treat a high score as evidence of anything beyond a high score.

No Professional Advice

Nothing on this Site constitutes professional advice of any kind, and it should not be relied on as such.

  • Not coaching or training advice. Our guides describe how our games work and the ideas behind them. They are not a training programme, and they have not been reviewed by a qualified coach.
  • Not medical or fitness advice. Where we mention real-world practice, such as juggling a ball to build touch and balance, that is general encouragement rather than an exercise prescription. If you have any injury, condition or doubt about your fitness, speak to a doctor or a qualified professional before taking up physical activity.
  • Not officiating advice. Our explanations of the rules are simplified for newcomers. For any decision that actually matters, the official Laws of the Game published by the relevant governing body are the only authority.
  • Nothing to do with betting or fantasy. The Site carries no odds, tips, predictions or form data, and nothing here should be used as a basis for any wager or fantasy football decision. We do not accept payments, and there is nothing on the Site to gamble on.

Technical Limitations

The games run entirely inside your browser, which is what makes them load instantly with no download. It also means your experience depends on hardware and software we do not control.

We test on current versions of the common browsers on desktop and mobile, but we cannot guarantee that every game behaves identically everywhere. Older devices may run the animation less smoothly. Some browser extensions, privacy tools, script blockers and corporate or school network filters can interfere with how a page loads, how sound plays, or whether your best scores save at all. Browsers also handle audio differently, which is why sound in our games only starts after your first tap or key press.

Saved scores are stored in your browser's local storage on your own device, so they can disappear for reasons that have nothing to do with us: clearing your browsing data, using private or incognito mode, switching browser or device, or a browser reclaiming storage space. We hold no copy and cannot recover a lost record. We also give no guarantee that a score set in one version of a game remains comparable after that game is rebalanced, and we do rebalance games when players tell us something is too easy or too punishing.

Errors and Corrections

We would genuinely rather be corrected than be wrong. If you spot a factual error in a guide, a quiz question with a debatable answer, an out-of-date rule explanation, or a game behaving in a way our own documentation contradicts, please tell us. We check it, fix it, and update the "Last updated" date on the affected page.

That has already happened more than once. Both of our shooting games have been rebalanced after players reported that the goalkeeper felt wrong, and the descriptions on those pages were rewritten to match the new behaviour. We would rather that cycle be visible than pretend the Site arrived finished.

Your Use of the Site Is at Your Own Risk

Taking the points above together: the information on this Site is published in good faith and for general information and entertainment only. We make no representation or warranty of any kind as to its completeness, accuracy, reliability, suitability or availability. Any action you take on the basis of anything you read here is strictly at your own risk, and we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from it, to the extent permitted by law.

This Disclaimer should be read alongside our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, which together set out the full basis on which the Site is provided. Nothing on this page is intended to exclude any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, or to limit consumer rights that the law of your own country grants you.

Contact

If anything on this page needs clarifying, or you'd like to raise a concern, please contact us via the Contact page or at hello@footballrunner.online.

If you are a rights holder who believes something on the Site infringes your intellectual property, please write to us with the specific page and what the issue is. We will look at it promptly and remove or change anything we should not be using. As explained above, our artwork and games are made from scratch, so we would be surprised, but we would rather hear from you than not.
