Terms of Use

Last updated: 16 August 2026. These terms set out the rules for using the Football Runner website and games. They're straightforward and mostly common sense, so please read them, because using the Site means you accept them.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using footballrunner.online (the "Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the Site. We may update these terms from time to time, and continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the revised terms.

2. Use of the Site

The Site and its games are provided for your personal, non-commercial entertainment. You agree to use the Site lawfully and not to:

  • Attempt to hack, disrupt, overload or interfere with the Site or its servers;
  • Use automated tools to access, scrape or copy the Site in bulk;
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, alter or tamper with the games or their code; or
  • Use the Site in any way that harms other users or breaks the law.

We may restrict or withdraw access to anyone who misuses the Site.

Since the list above is a list of restrictions, it is only fair to be equally explicit about what you are entirely welcome to do, because it covers almost everything anyone actually wants:

  • Play as much as you like, for free, forever. There is no daily limit, no energy meter, no session cap and no paywall waiting a few levels in.
  • Share links to any page. Post a game link in a group chat, a forum, a classroom resource list or on social media. No permission needed, and we would be glad of it.
  • Use the games in a classroom or club. Teachers and coaches are welcome to put a game on a projector, use the Football Basics page as a lesson handout, or run the Football Quiz as a group activity. That counts as ordinary personal and educational use, not commercial use.
  • Talk about it, review it, screenshot it. Write about the games, record yourself playing them, or post your best score. Quoting a reasonable extract with a credit and a link is fine.

The line we are drawing with "non-commercial" is about wholesale copying, not about ordinary enjoyment. Taking our game code and re-hosting it as your own product, wrapping it in your own ads, or bundling it into an app you distribute is not on. Playing it, sharing it and teaching with it very much is. If you are unsure which side of that line your plan falls on, ask us first; the answer is usually yes, and a short email saves everyone the guesswork.

3. Intellectual Property

Unless stated otherwise, the games, code, text, design, graphics and branding on the Site are the property of Football Runner and its owner, and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may play the games and share links to the Site freely. You may not copy, reproduce, redistribute, sell or create derivative works from the Site's content without our prior written permission.

All third-party names or trademarks that may be referenced are the property of their respective owners and are used for descriptive purposes only.

4. No Warranty

The Site and its games are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Site will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components. Please also see our Disclaimer.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Football Runner and its owner will not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site, including any loss of data (such as saved scores) or any issues arising from third-party content or advertising. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

6. External Links

The Site may contain links to third-party websites and services that we do not control. We provide these links for convenience and are not responsible for the content, policies or practices of any third-party site. Visiting external sites is at your own risk.

7. Advertising

The Site is supported by advertising, which helps keep the games free. Advertisements may be served by third parties, including Google AdSense. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements or the products and services they promote. How advertising cookies work is explained in our Privacy Policy.

8. Changes to the Games or Site

We're always tinkering. We may add, change, suspend or remove games and features at any time without notice. We may also update the Site's design and content as it evolves.

In practice this mostly means balance changes. A game that turns out to be too easy gets harder, a game that frustrates people gets clearer feedback, and a control scheme that nobody finds intuitive gets replaced. Those adjustments are the point of running the Site rather than an inconvenience, and they are usually made because a player wrote in and told us something was wrong.

One consequence worth flagging: because difficulty can change, a best score set under an older version of a game is not strictly comparable with one set later, and we make no promise that historic records remain meaningful after a rework. We also cannot promise that any particular game will stay on the Site indefinitely, though we would only retire one if it were broken beyond sensible repair.

9. No Accounts, No Payments, No Virtual Items

Plenty of terms documents on games sites are dominated by clauses about subscriptions, refunds, in-app purchases and the ownership of virtual currency. None of that applies here, and it is worth saying so plainly rather than leaving you to work it out from what is absent.

There is no account to create, so there is no account for us to suspend, no password for you to lose, and no profile of yours for anyone to compromise. There is nothing to buy: no coins, no gems, no premium tier, no ad-free upgrade, no loot boxes and no cosmetics. Because nothing is sold, there is no refund policy for the simple reason that there is never anything to refund.

This also means you hold no balance, credit or virtual property on the Site that could be lost if a game changes or is retired. The only thing a change can affect is a saved best score sitting in your own browser, which is covered in the next section.

If anyone ever contacts you claiming to sell Football Runner accounts, coins, score boosts or premium access, it is not us and it is not legitimate. We will never ask you to pay for anything, and we will never ask you for a password, because there is no password to ask for.

10. Your Saved Scores

Your best scores are stored in your own browser on your own device, not on our servers. That design is deliberate and it is explained in more detail in our Privacy Policy, but it has two consequences worth spelling out as part of these terms.

First, your scores are entirely under your control. Clear your browser data and they are gone, permanently. Switch to a different browser, a different device, or a private browsing window and you will start fresh, because there is no account tying those places together.

Second, we cannot restore, transfer or verify them. We do not have a copy. If a record disappears because of a browser update, a cleared cache, a device change or a game being reworked, there is nothing we can retrieve on your behalf, and we are not liable for that loss. If a particular best score matters to you, take a screenshot. That is not us being flippant, it is genuinely the only backup that exists.

11. Age and Supervision

The games are designed to be family-friendly, with no violence, no chat, no user-generated content and no way for players to contact each other. There is nothing here that requires an age gate, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children, as set out in our Privacy Policy.

That said, the Site is on the open internet and carries third-party advertising, and we do not control what those advertisements show. If a younger family member is playing, the usual sensible supervision applies, just as it would on any free website. Parents and guardians are responsible for deciding what is suitable for the children in their care and for supervising their use of the Site.

If you believe a child has sent us personal information through the contact form or by email, tell us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms of Use from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed. Your continued use of the Site after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the site owner's jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes relating to the Site or these terms will be subject to that jurisdiction.

If any individual provision of these terms turns out to be unenforceable in a particular place, that provision is treated as removed and the rest of the terms continue to apply. Nothing here is intended to strip you of consumer rights that the law of your own country grants you and does not allow to be waived.

Before anything formal, please just email us. This is a small football games site, and essentially every complaint we have ever received was a misunderstanding, a bug or a suggestion in disguise. A message usually resolves it within a day.

14. Contact

Questions about these terms? Reach us through the Contact page or at hello@footballrunner.online.

If you are asking whether a particular use of the games is permitted, include the details of what you have in mind and we will give you a straight answer rather than pointing you back at this page.
